Reads LeCun's tweet praising Anthony Fauci as a hero who saved millions and is vilified by anti-science Republicans posturing over public safety.

Counters that a million Americans died from COVID, more than the World Wars combined, and there is a schism between those who lionize Fauci and those questioning the virus's origin.

Cites the book by Matt Ridley and Alina Chan, a Broad Institute researcher at MIT and Harvard, tracing a copper-mining bat cave in China whose viruses resemble COVID.

Points to the DEFUSE proposal EcoHealth sent DARPA in 2018 as a blueprint for gain-of-function research, with Dr Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology seeking $14 million.

The Proximal Origins paper, published in Nature in March 2020 and cited thousands of times, was closely coordinated with Fauci, Francis Collins, and at least 11 other scientists on a February 1st 2020 call.

On that call Fauci and Collins were first warned COVID may have leaked and been genetically manipulated, yet the draft they were sent to edit did not squash the lab-leak hypothesis.

Collins later emailed Fauci asking whether the NIH could do more to put down the lab-leak hypothesis, and Fauci then cited Proximal Origins from the White House podium.

Alleges Fauci coordinated with EcoHealth to evade FOIA, using a government phone for personal conversations so texts and emails would stay unfoilable.

Notes Rand Paul revealed a Boston University back channel where Fauci instructed David Morens to circumvent records, and says LeCun is a legendary AI scientist but does not know what he is talking about here.
